nearbycofee is a curated Instagram page that features independent coffee shops from around the world. This policy explains what information we handle and how.
Information we collect
From cafés that contact us: the photos, videos, café name, city, country and description you send us so we can feature you. We publish this only with your permission and always credit your account.
Through the Instagram Graph API: our internal tool reads public posts under coffee-related hashtags to help us discover cafés. We store only the post link, a short caption excerpt and the hashtag it was found under, to avoid showing the same post twice. We do not store personal data, profile photos or media files from these posts.
Website visitors: we do not use advertising trackers. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security.
How we use it
To find and contact cafés to feature, to publish features you have agreed to, and to keep a record of which cafés we have already contacted or featured. We never sell or share this information with third parties.
Our tool's limits
Our tool is read-only and used only by the nearbycofee team. It does not post, like, comment, follow or send messages on anyone's behalf.
Data retention
Discovery records are kept as long as they are useful to avoid duplicate outreach, and at most 12 months. Content you send us stays as long as the feature is published, or until you ask us to remove it.
Data deletion
To remove a feature or any record we hold about your café or account, email [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL] or send a DM to @nearbycofee with your Instagram username. We delete it within 7 days and confirm by reply.
